Eva Cherry Designs: Fashion Artistry

Outfit inspiration: the fashions of 16th century Venice meet traditional Indonesian shirt-like garment ‘kebaya’.

Wrap ‘kebaya’ dress in batik paisly-print crepe with black chiffon contrast cuffs, featuring cut-out detail at neckline and front hem. Worn over fitted silk-satin petticoat trimmed with clove-dyed cotton lace. Finished with a black chiffon obi belt, ribbon-tie black spats, and ‘mermaid’s necklace’ seaweed earings with gold beads.

A rich forest-brown100% wool tailored jacket with elephant-print lining, featuring a varnished driftwood clasp worn over sleeveless cotton ‘pirate’ shirt with faux-leather thonging. Sandy-hued 100% wool tailored trousers features double button wrap with vintage-style buttons, and contrast interior pocket with shaping detail; pendant of varnished local riverstone on waxed cotton.

This outfit inspired by 16-17th century European naval uniform meets traditional Southeast Asian dress.

Halter bikini with faux-leather braid strap and frog clasp closures; fisherman romper pants featuring tie back and gold coin detail; matching cuffs with gold button and white lace detail; 3-tier silk jabbot collar; seagull-feather feature earing; ‘Treasure’ coin-belt with trinkets from Eva’s treasure chest.

This outfit was inspired by the English/Chinese opium trade from the 15th-19th century.

A decadent deep crimson silk cheongsam features a split to hip and tea-dyed antique gold satin bias trim. Each poppy is individually hand-painted and hand-beaded with recycled glass seed beads.

Matching choker with frog clasp closure, earrings and bracelet set including venetian glass, resin, and metal beads.
